Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide each child a safe, nurturing, academically challenging and culturally diverse environment and to offer each child the highest quality of early childhood education attainable.

Who We Are:

The Learning Center is a private educational preschool founded in 1987.  We provide quality care for children ages twelve months to five years.  We are an educational team that consists of Early Childhood Specialists who hold Master’s Degrees, Bachelor Degrees, Associate Degrees and Early Childhood Professional Certifications in order to provide the best care and education for early learners.

Our Philosophy:

The Learning Center Preschool’s Directors and Education Team believe that each child is a unique individual; and all children are born with the ability to learn.  We provide an environment that recognizes each child’s capabilities, interests, and learning style.

TLC Educators understand that children learn best through meaningful play, therefore, we provide a child centered program which reflects the integration of physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language and self help skills using a play-based system.

When taught conscious discipline techniques, our children learn self discovery, individual growth and gains a positive self image.  We encourage and maintain a home-school connection and provide an environment where parental participation and assistance is welcomed and community involvement is encouraged.

Our Goal:

In addition to our regular daily activities, we offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities.
On a weekly basis we offer gymnastics and computer classes at the center.
We also expose the children to a variety of experiences from various educators throughout
the community, just to mention a few:

Our goal is to shape our program around the children and their families. We will provide a nurturing, flexible, and academic atmosphere where self concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, free choice decisions offered, social skills acquired and individuality respected. Our ultimate goal is to offer a foundation for early learners which prepares them for the next phase of their educational journey.

Kindergarten Readiness Skills:

When a child completes the VPK program, a screening is administered during the first 30 days of kindergarten. The screening measures alphabet and sound recognition, listening comprehension and vocabulary.

Once the children from a particular school are screened, the school is assigned a “Kindergarten Readiness Rate”. Officials determine the rate using a 100-point scale and matching each kindergarten student’s screening scores to where he or she attended Pre-K.

We are very pleased to announce that The Learning Center Preschool receives a very high score every year on the Readiness Rate. Please visit the website at www.vpk.fldoe.org

Our hope is that every child leaves our school with a solid foundation on which knowledge and positive self-esteem can grow and flourish.

Extracurricular Activities:
