The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood
The
TLC Curriculum Early Childhood was built on the premise that
children are endowed with a natural sense of curiosity. The
high - quality education that we provide nurtures children's
curiosity, and assists as they explore the world around them.
Thematic
Units 2011-2012
Our curriculum is age appropriate and literacy rich. We encourage
the cognitive, social / emotional, physical and language development
of each child. Children are encouraged to investigate, create
and discover in order to add to their current knowledge.
Our daily schedules encompasses active indoor and outdoor
play in what we refer to as learning centers. The indoor centers
will include but not limited to:
Blocks
Dramatic
Play
Toys and
Games
Art
Library
Science/Discovery
Music
and movement
Language
Arts
Cooking
Computers
The shaded outdoor areas are equipped with child safe structures
that provide gross motor development. This area is utilized
in ways that include teacher-child interaction and opportunities
for children to explore freely. Our four playgrounds are developmentally
age appropriate to facilitate individual growth and development.
The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood
The Learning Center Preschools'
curriculum is strongly supported by the nationally recognized
Creative Curriculum. This curriculum is developmentally appropriate
and encourages the cognitive, social / emotional, physical
and language development of a child.
In Addition, The Creative Curriculum
is research based in order to set and achieve standards and
goals for each age. This goal is accomplished by knowing how
children develop and learn. From this perspective, we acknowledge
similarities and differences, while appreciating general standards
and patterns of growth in all children.
The Creative Curriculum and The Learning Center Preschool
takes into account the importance of the home school connection
in educating the young child.
About our Education Team
The Learning Center Preschool employs degreed teachers who
are committed to educating young children ages one through
five. Philosophies are discussed and national background checks
are required before an educator enters our classroom.
Our
family oriented education team remains up - to- date on
the latest educational research, and attends valuable trainings
for staff development.
We look
forward to making the home-school connection with you and
your child
